Capsule Collections with Artists

The photo project is an homage to the most famous athletes, the most important sport matches, located in Cortina from 1956, the year of the winter games, till nowadays. From this concept it starts the research and the reconstruction of a fictional world of sport, in which the photos have been rebuilted in small scale; sets, miniatures, ski slopes and ice, an artisanal work that transforms the image in a three-dimensional object. “I have searched and selected some photos and video frames of the sporting competitions of the best athletes, skiers and bob racers. The photos have been reconstructed in small scale; I have created small sets, miniatures, by an artisanal technique as the theater sets of the pre-digital movies. It is a method that led to create a world that doesn’t exist or rebuilt one existed in the past. From space to the imagination and the creativity.”

The Suprema aw 19/20 capsule collection is made by fox vests enriched by the printed silk internal lining as an homage to Cortina d’Ampezzo, with the images of the ‘50s postcards. An homage to the elegance of italian  fashion and and to Italy in the world.

The building of the mith or its reconstruction is aimed to preserve the wonder of something already happened and that maybe in the future will happen another time

There are some mysteries that are revealed and others that remain hidden. It is unknown if they are more or less precious compared to the others that shows themselves. It is certain that art is related to the intimity, with a uptight but striking feeling. As strong as it is the form, more discrete should be its  worldly manifestation. It isn’t so frequent even though the ever-stronger link between art and fashion, “communicating vessels” for a language related to the  image. That’s the reason why it is appreciated the message of whom that works relying on a great artist and his creations: impudent, bright, full of lively suggestions, the works of Simon Hernandez. The language used by the artist is extremely sophisticated but full of strong cross-references.

Now the link is even stronger, it is aimed that the art will be as a second skin of the body. From Mondrian to Gauguin, the trip that is faced to the other worlds is now revealed: from Gucci to Saint Laurent, the first ones to be fascinated by the mixing as Fiorucci, Fendi and Valentino, till the most conservative clergy that loans its “totems” to fashion garments: stoles, mitres and religious vestments are relating a transversal tale, spiritual and unorhodox, secular and ritualistic that means more than a closeness, and during the exhibition showed new similarities.

Regarding Suprema, the luxury leatherwear brand, the process has started from the body, skin and physical contact, pieces of art concealed behind a customized lining, available only for the collectors. So the brand is relied on a great painter, the Venezuelan Simon Hernandez, starting a collaboration with the daughter Consuelo and the Foundation dedicated to her father.

“From totems to archetypes, the expressionism of a wild gauguin”, is the title of the exhibition that will be opened from october 3th at Hernandez Art Gallery in Milan, at the end of a path that will include a special capsule collection showed at White Milano, the main italian fashion exhibition, from september 21 to 24th. Venezuelan suggestions of Hernandez in an explosion of north-american surrealism that has returned on trend. It is the rediscovery on leather of a contemporary artist that, differently from the its colleagues, has moved its homeland in Europe and has imposed it there with a multi-ethnic pride.  In Milan will be showed his art funambulism, tropical arcehtypes that seem to be escaped from an archaic jungle. Vigorous characters for communicating modern messages. A non-mitigated violence as a warning, devils and spirits that seem born to be transposed in fashion garments. A copious creativity work that meets the style of the outerwear without prevaricate it. Hernandez pieces of art seem to be born to this precious combination. Art as a message of life.
